With all that we must juggle in today’s fast-paced world, with many of us connected 24/7 and on the go, it can seem tough to find time to exercise for busy people. While it is true that many of us are busier than ever, it comes down to priorities. And if we value our health and fitness, we must make time to take care of it through regular workouts.

It’s no surprise that you have to schedule your workouts during the week – just like you would an appointment in your calendar – and then honor that commitment. You’ll never just “find time” to workout. Although some days packed with business and travel and such may truly be too overloaded to add a workout, most of us can squeeze in a few sessions each week with a little planning and dedication.

Your schedule may require that you exercise early in the morning or later in the evening, which can be a challenge. On the days you feel like skipping a workout, try this:  put on your workout gear and tell yourself that you only have to exercise for a minimum of 10 minutes. Typically, once you’ve gotten started, you’ll continue to the end of a full workout.

One of the biggest motivators to fit in exercise is that it does give you energy and helps you accomplish even more each day. Even when I have limited time, I’ve come to realize over the years that with exercise, a little—or anything, really—is definitely better than none at all. And knowing that I’m doing something good for myself keeps me motivated to stay on track.
